The Woodworkers Guild is a non-profit organization established to:

  • provide opportunities for woodworkers of all skill levels, whether working for profit or as a hobby, to become as knowledgeable and skilled as they would like to be in their woodworking endeavors,
  • hold regular meetings and occasional workshops, tours and shows to expose members to the work of others, methods of work, shop practices, sources of supply, and sources of information,
  • support an annual woodworkers show (exhibit) in the Shuswap region of the Province, and
  • provide opportunities for networking and the enjoyment of fellowship with other woodworkers.

Established in 2002, the Guild now has more than 70 paid members who reside from Pritchard to Canoe and from Deep Creek to Anglemont.

The Guild meets monthly (except, July and August) in Sorrento on the third Wednesday of the month at 7:00 pm. Each meeting provides an opportunity for show & tell, discussion of present woodworking problems or successes, and features a specific topic.

We have a shop where members can do projects that they are unable to do at home.  Members work together at the shop to make community improvement projects such as picnic tables, and they make Christmas toys for children of less fortunate families in the Shuswap area.

Membership is open to adult residents of the Shuswap region who are male or female, professional or beginner. We welcome your participation.

Meeting & Event Schedule

Guild meetings are Sept-June on the 3rd Wednesday of the month - except December, which is determined in the Fall depending on the calendar.

Meetings are held at Toad Hall beginning at 7:00 pm. Toad Hall is located in Sorrento behind Toby’s Restaurant.  There is ample parking.

There are occasional demonstrations and classes about some aspect of woodworking at a time, date and place that are not tied to regular meetings.

Mentoring is available to members with arrangements made privately between the member and the mentor.

Shop tours are arranged at the pleasure of the shop owner.
