The 2008 Shuswap Wood Show is the 6th annual event co-sponsored by the Shuswap Carvers and the
Shuswap Woodworkers Guild.

The show promotes the enjoyment of working with wood as a hobby and features a stimulating and inspiring display of outstanding craftsmanship in each area of interest to carvers and woodworkers. You will find wood manipulated in many ways: carved, turned, laminated, assembled, inlaid, pierced, and hewn creating works of art, home furnishings and accessories of all kinds.

The exhibition is a judged competition in both the carving and woodworking disciplines in the junior, novice, intermediate and open levels of skill and experience. Any hobbyist may enter the competition – there are no club affiliation requirements. Judging is based on originality, workmanship, degree of difficulty and finish. You can vote for your favorite entries for the peoples’ choice awards.

This is not the traditional machinery and tool show found in many western
Canadian cities but rather an exhibition of what can be made from wood for use and enjoyment. Some carvers and woodworkers will be selling their handcrafted items.
